El Chaltén is a typical summer destination, with a season that runs from October to April. In these months, the weather is milder and with longer days of sunlight. September and May tend to be colder months, and not all excursions are usually available.

From El Calafate Airport:

-Car rental (Hertz as a suggestion), or through our WhatsApp you can ask for recommendations of remises or cabs.

-Private transfer “Don Atilio”: +549 296649-8830. It offers different departure times and has a door-to-door service. Possibility of booking private trips in case the arrival to El Calafate is at a time outside the usual service. 

From other cities:

-Long distance bus to El Calafate and transfer to El Chaltén: purchase of tickets through Plataforma 10, or in person at the terminals.

Yes, there are activities for everyone! You can do horseback riding, fishing trips, car or bicycle rides, guided tours to historical sites, etc.

Trekking and mountaineering are the most popular activities for visitors, although it is a destination suitable for everyone. In addition to hikes of varying degrees of difficulty, you can go kayaking, boating, rafting, horseback riding, mountain biking, fishing excursions, visits to museums, petrified forests, walks through different landscapes, etc. A great activity recommended for those who have difficulty getting around or even for families with children, is sailing on the Lago del Desierto. The best thing to do in this destination is to wear comfortable and warm clothes, both to protect you from the cold and heat, and from the wind. Good footwear, layers of clothing and sun protection.
